What are the career prospects for apprentices

What are the career prospects for apprentices by Tom Bunkham Looking for a job with career progression? An apprenticeship might be for you…There’s been a marked shift in opinion amongst employers in recent years in terms of the value they place on apprenticeships. In fact, apprenticeships are fast-becoming acknowledged as one of the most effective pathways to career success â€" one reason the number of schemes continues to rise. Here’s a quick guide on the overall career prospects for apprentices:Short termThe Apprentice Learner Survey found that only 4.5% of those who completed their apprenticeship scheme with a Level 4 vocational qualification in 2013 became unemployed within just six months. In fact, after finishing their scheme, as many as 85% of apprentices will stay in employment, with two-thirds (64%) remaining with the same employer. The survey, which questioned over 5,000 apprentices, also found that one in three (32%) of all former apprentices received a promotion within a year of completing their apprentice ship, whilst three-quarters (75%) stated that they were given more responsibility in their role.Long termSo in the short term, apprentices can see an immediate return on their investment. But what about their longer term career prospects?Again, the outlook is very good. A City Guilds report found that almost 20% of employers have former apprentices working in board level positions, with long term career progression not the reserve of those who have attended university.Indeed, the report stated that half (51%) of companies stated that it takes an apprentice approximately five years to reach management level. So it perhaps comes as no surprise to learn that 92% of apprentices reporting being satisfied with their apprenticeship.Of course, career prospects aside, apprenticeships have been proven to have other considerable benefits â€" namely self-confidence.According to the same report, almost 9 in 10 (87%) apprentices strongly agree that they feel more confident in their own abilities as a result of undertaking their apprenticeship 80% of whom state it provided them with the sector-relevant skills and knowledge needed to boost their career prospects both in the short and long term.Joint benefitsBut its not just the apprentices themselves who benefit from such schemes. Employers do too.According to the Government, nearly every employer that takes on an apprentice (96%) reports benefits to their business. This perhaps explains why there is such a high percentage of apprentices who get promoted and take on greater responsibility within 12 months of finishing their scheme.Furthermore, from a study of over 4,000 employers who have taken on apprentices, 88% state they were satisfied or very satisfied with the quality of training their apprentices had received, whilst 47% stated they had already recommended apprenticeships to other employers.Final thoughtsWhatever industry you’re looking to work in, apprenticeships offer real prospects and real opportunities. With 15 % of employers stating that apprentices are more employable than those with other qualifications, coupled with their continued commitment to promoting former apprentices to the companys highest positions, how far you want to progress your career will be up to you.You just need to work hard â€" and find the right role.Feel like an apprenticeship is the right option for you? How Do You Find Cheap Resume Writing Services? If you are a new employee of a large company and have yet to apply for a job, hiring companies will often use resume writing services in San Francisco, California. Often the first place to look for these types of services is through the national search websites. However, some companies may choose to do their own resume writing services in San Francisco, or even out of state. What can be done with this information and how can it be used?A professional resume will include everything that a potential employer may want to know about your background. From the degree you received to what skills you have or do not have, all of this information is often included in a well-written resume. You can create your own. To do this all you ne ed is a computer and the ability to write in some type of format. You will be able to start with a business experience resume, then expand to other categories like a sports athlete, and so on.However, there are certain things you should avoid when you get resume writing services in San Francisco. One of these is to get any kind of illegal material in your resume. Things like free email addresses, email addresses that belong to dead people, or even a list of relatives who may be contacting the company, this should not be put in your resume. This may not sound like something that is important, but remember this is your career and your future. Also, it is important to keep the company that you work for happy. While it may be frustrating to be ignored by a job interviewer, you should not give up hope. You should keep sending in your resume and even go as far as to approach a local law firm in the state you are looking to move to. This can give you an idea of what legal procedures you can do with regards to your resume, but only if you choose the right attorney or law firm. When you get your resume in the mail, take the time to check it over carefully. A company should have an extensive database of resumes from clients, and this should include other places that you have worked. Sometimes this may mean that they are looking to hire someone based off of something in the resume that you did not think was relevant. One important thing to do is to try to find a company that provides a successful resume writing service. There are many websites online that offer this service and many of them have already been reviewed by clients. So what does it take to get a good review and see which one can offer you the best service? Well, it takes experience and the ability to provide clients with a service that they can count on.Check their rates and compare them to the price of hiring a professional writer to do your resume for you. Some places will try to charge a fee for the job, and this is something you will have to look at very closely. Even though you may feel they are charging too much, if you do not want to pay for the professional writers, ask if you can get some written copies of your resume. This will also help ensure you get a better value for your money.
